At this Outdoor Classroom Day webinar, outdoor learning and play experts share practical advice on how schools can use time outdoors to address the current challenges.
Michael Follett is the UK’s most experienced expert on school playtimes and has been improving children’s lives through play for nearly 20 years. He is founder and Director of Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) CIC, which he established to work with schools, providers, councils, companies and organisations to improve all aspects of children’s opportunities to play and learn outdoors.
Matt Robinson is Scotland Director at Learning through Landscapes (LtL). He leads on the organisation’s Scottish Natural Heritage projects, currently supporting schools to make better use of local greenspace for learning. Matt spends a lot of time preparing and leading training for primary and secondary schools. He is also responsible for the LtL’s UK-wide training offer.
Josefina Prieto has been co-creating Naturalizar at Fundación Ilumina – the first Outdoor Learning Early Childhood Program in Chile – since 2011. She teaches outdoor learning and play to pre-service teacher training students and has just founded a consultancy, e-spiral, which aims to interweave education with nature at schools and universities. Josefina leads the Outdoor Classroom Day movement in Chile in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh.
